Last Tuesday we went to Nanny Jackie's school as every year some of the classes hatch baby chicks. The kids always enjoy seeing them and seem to get a little more comfortable around them every year. Jake was the bravest in wanting to actually hold one but we just couldn't get it to happen. It was a fun time and hopefully next year we'll still be able to get a peek at them even though Nanny will be retired!!

Wednesday brought the beginning of summer soccer. The 2 oldest girls are playing this summer and are on the same team. They have golden yellow jerseys and the team name that they picked is " The Golddiggers". We were quite pleased to finally get a game in as the previous two had been rained out. Unfortunately for Sarah she was a little under the weather and only made it halfway through the night. She was then down and out for the next two days with a fever of about 40C (103+) . Jessica enjoyed the night and did pretty well. We are hoping she will be a little more aggressive this year as last year she spent alot of time playing with her hair. Tonight is supposed to be another game but who knows if it will happen or not. We had a pretty rainy weekend so the fields might not get to open.

This weekend was pretty low key. We had the Sears man here Saturday morning to look at the dryer......he will be back tomorrow to replaced the front seals. Thank goodness it wasn't anything too major. I didn't really want to have to buy a new dryer when that one is only 6 years old. After the kids and I headed to Halifax where they got to play with Uncle Mike while I went to a baby shower for Kristi Drennan. It was nice to get out and see some friends I hadn't talked to in awhile. Yesterday was Sunday.....not a typical Sunday around here. Jessica had been complaining of having a sore throat so Jeff took her into the hospital. While there they didn't think it was anything but a virus and took a swab to check for strep and then sent her on her way. I think that Jeff thought he might have looked dumb for taking her in with just a sore throat but in the middle of the afternoon we got the call saying it had come back POSITIVE and that she indeed has strep throat. She is now taking "Banana Medicine" 3 times a day for the next 10 days. Lucky girl......I loved when I got that medicine as a kid!!! It then turned out to be a really quiet day as Jessica slept most of the day and all the other kids crashed. It's too bad that we didn't get to have Sunday naps too but we were busy making a yummy turkey supper. I had to take pictures of all the kids sleeping because it is rare they all crash together.
