So last Thursday (April 3rd) started out as a pretty normal day in our house with the morning hustle to get ready for school. In helping the kids get ready for school I decided that I would quickly wash their faces. Anyone who has ever seen me scrub a face knows I am fast and am not too concerned about how gentle I am doing it. Now Jessica lost one top tooth awhile ago and we really thought the other front one would follow quickly but instead of getting looser it seemed to be getting tighter. We were starting to worry it was growing back in.....LOL!! So as I'm scrubbing her face she is fighting me because she just hates having it down. So during this workout the washcloth gets caught on the sharp corner of her front tooth and RRRRIIIIPPPPPPP......the blood was everywhere........this wouldn't have been so bad if maybe it had come out but instead it was hanging sideways........and at this point we were going to be late for school. Needless to say I took Sarah to school and told Jessica's teacher she would be late......I think it was about 30 minutes late......the bleeding just didn't want to stop.
We will fast forward to after school that day when we thought in the windy weather it would be great to go for a family bike ride. We packed the bikes up and headed to Nanny Jackie's as she has some great paths by her house to bike on. I think when we got there the first thing Laura said about Jessica's tooth was, " That's disgusting.......it needs to come out." It truly was but was kinda funny to look at!!! Back to the bikes......we got everyone geared up.....including Georgia.....this year she is big enough for her bike trailer so we got her a helmet and took her along for the ride. The kids had a blast going up and down some hills and didn't want to come in. They have gone for a few bike rides this year and just could go forever. It is a huge difference from last year. We just have to get rid of the training wheels now!!!
Georgia all geared up and ready to go......
Jessica heading in for a break......
Sarah loves cruising on her bike.....
Jake can go super fast this year......
I bet you are curious about the tooth still and what became of it.......so we get back from the bike ride and my Dad had ordered some pizza for supper.....yummy yum!! Jessica sadly was having troubles eating and that's when the bribery started.......Daddy almost had it out but Jessica was a little nervous still so off he went to do some work for a friend. While I wasn't in the room my mom some how got permission to pull........and out it came. Thank heavens.......I think I would have done it while she was sleeping because I couldn't handle looking at it. She has an empty smile but it's cute!!!
This is how her tooth hung ALL day.....ugh!!!
A little emptier but so much better.....
Now aside from that we haven't been up to too much......the spring weather has been a nice change......I'm just dying to get rid of all the winter gear. It has all gone through 2 winters and is dirty and wearing out. I've gotten my money's worth and then some so I don't mind parting with it. Work is starting to pick up again for Jeff so we are seeing a little less of him every day but I won't complain about that. We are looking forward to more birthdays this month and then both the girls have birthdays in May so I have to start planning now. We are sad to see some friends head back to Utah this month as they are done dental school but with technology it will be alot easier to keep in touch!! It has been great getting to know them all. I'm sure in the next few weeks the kayak will be hitting the water. Jeff and Luke Petersen did a rolling course the other week so Jeff is anxious for the waters to warm up to try this out. I'll be sending Luke out with him to practice things like that........I would be scared he wouldn't be able to get back up!!! I will sign out now......Jake has had a fever on and off since yesterday so I am going to go and hangout with him. Enjoy the pictures.......

I am so dreading Sam loosing his teeth. I know that it will be a major drama and I am afraid of what will grow back in. He has cute, straight teeth now but I remamber what happened to me when all of my cute, straight teeth came out... Big crooked ones grew in. Can't wait for the orthodontist bills!
oh, dont you love the nice weather for biking and getting the kiddies out of the house?
georgia looks so cute in her little trailer. that's how i'd like to travel.
and i have to say, those teeth pictures gross me right out. josh will have to be the tooth getter outter!
Look how cute her smile is now! And I'm impressed Georgia is okay with wearing a helmet! Cam HATES any type of hat on his head, sad to say! I'm so glad I got to "meet" G....that webcam is just too much fun! She is SO cute! Cam loved playing Peekaboo with you!! Glad I could keep you company while you cleaned your kitchen!!!
Kathy those pictures of the tooth was nasty! Thank goodness the kids are cute!
gotta love toothless grins!
I am glad you are taking advantage of the nice weather, I am stuck inside all day feeling bad that I cant enjoy it, but at least someone is not taking it for granted! The kids look so big riding there bikes!
Hopefully Jake is feeling better!
I love those 6 year old tooth stories...it makes you remember that time in your life, when something like that happened to you.
My new listing is darrenandlesley.blogspot.com
man, that tooth story almost made me throw up. i can't handle stuff like a tooth ripping out, and blood everywhere. i think it's just hearing about it that i can't handle. if it were to happen to me, i'd be fine. but the thought of it. yikes. that is a funny story though.
Good, I'm glad I got the right sauce!! Next time it goes on a good sale, I'll for sure stock up for you!
Yeah, you definitely had a lot of drama with the lost tooth as well. I can't bring myself to pull them out but fortunately my husband doesn't mind and he's quick. Megan didn't even know what hit her.
