A night out......

Jeff and I got to sneak out on Monday night......thanks to a gift certificate for supper and a sister who willingly takes 5 kids on a moments notice!!! Love it!!!! A cheap night out!!!

We went to "Hamachi Steakhouse Bar and Grill" in downtown Halifax. The night was crazy windy and wet so the restaurant was pretty quiet. We had a nice seat by the window with a great view of the chefs doing some traditional Japanese Teppanyaki cooking for some other guests. It was neat!!! So seeing as we had a gift certificate we got to have some extras with our meals. I can't help but take pictures of yummy stuff.......so here goes.....

Hamachi Appetizer Mixer......loved the asparagus beef!!!

Jeff had the "Hamachi Surf and Turf"......cause we weren't paying :)
The steak was the most amazing... but if you blinked you might
not see the scallops they were so tiny!!!

I had the Wasabi Chicken........AWESOME....and tons of chicken.
Loved the Japanese rice too......

For dessert we shared "Mount Fuji"....wasn't super crisp
but was to die for!!! Wouldn't be able to eat by myself....

All in all it was a great meal out. Would it be my first choice to go to again?? Probably not.....it was not a cheap meal at all and I personally think a little over priced. Glad we got to try it out though.....

Wow Kathy, that all looks delicious! We rarely go out unless we have a gift card (which we get almost monthly thanks to credit card rewards!), and I think it makes the food taste even better knowing you don't have to fork out the cash for it! :) I'm so glad you got a night out with your man...nothing like a good date night to rejuvinate you for the long days at home with kids!

Hamachi is overpriced. I would have been disappointed if that's what my meals looked like...
Try Sushi nami in Dartmouth Crossing if you ever get the chance. They have the teppenyaki also, but I have never tried it there. We enjoy the sushi varieties. They are very creative- especially the vegetarian selection. We can have dinner for 4 with our girls for about $65.
