Earrings, kayaking and even a bath in the kitchen.....

Not too much happening in these parts this week. Just getting ready to head camping on Saturday which means getting everything in order so it can be packed on Friday and ready to go on Saturday. I've been making lists and checking them twice in hopes that we don't forget anything........we usually forget something but it's never anything major so we will grab it at the general store. The kids are excited as am I. Most people think I'm crazy for being excited about living in a tent for the week but the kids are on the go all day and have fun with their cousins and you don't hear them fighting about computers etc. LOVE IT!!! At night we do a campfire and then they are all usually pretty willing to hop into bed. Fun times and great memories!!

So last week was a busy week. Jessica and Sarah both decided that they were going to get their ears pierced. It was a long complicated story and to be honest I don't feel like typing it, in the end they both have cute earrings and are excited for birthdays and Christmas knowing that they now could get new earrings. They have been really great about getting them cleaned and didn't even cry or scream the day they had them done. Julie and Marie ( at Peoples) did a fantastic job!!

On Thursday Jeff and his buddy Aaron went on a day kayak trip. I think it was about a 6 hour paddle that they did. Jeff was itching to get out in his new boat and they couldn't have asked for a better day. Tanya and I dropped them off at Shubie Park in the morning and mid afternoon we met up with them at Oakfield Park. Tanya and I took the kids out early and let them play in the water. They had a blast together and have been asking to go back ever since!! We plan to try to do a little more swimming at Keji where the kids enjoy it so much. Hopefully it will wear them out even more:)

And lastly what would the week be without a little bit of mess to clean up. I thought that I would let Georgia feed herself a cup of yogurt. She usually does a pretty good job. I think her eating it in a clean way went out the door when she tipped it up like it was a cup and tried to drink it. It was too funny!!! Needless to say she thought she should then rub it through her hair like it was shampoo. We had a good laugh watching her. In the end I got her shampoo and gave her a bath in the kitchen sink. I think she enjoyed being able to sit right under the tap. What a kid!!!

Wow, Georgia suddenly seems a lot older in these pics! She's not a baby anymore! Last year flew by too fast!
That's SO exciting about the ear peircing! My sisters and I got ours done for our 9th birthdays...tradition! Then there were my "rebel years" when I had 2 and 3 holes! :)
So I really wish we could chat soon, but with my 2 trips this week and next week, and your trip this weekend, I don't think we'll find the time for awhile! Hopefully we can get some phone time in on Friday!!!

I think every kid should have at least one bath in the kitchen sink...mine all did and thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree with Becca, Georgia looks so much older now. The girls look very cute with their earrings. Have fun on the camping trip!

I, for one, think that you are crazy for being excited to live in a tent for a week! My idea of camping is a cozy cottage with a comfy bed and clean bathroom...haha guess I'm not very outdoors-y. I do admire those of you who enjoy it though. What a big step for the girls in getting their ears pierced. They must have been so proud...I think it makes them look much more mature! Not sure if my neice will ever get it done...she's not so fond of pain so it probably wouldn't be something she'd be interested in. I'm jealous of Jeff's kayaking excursion, I haven't been in about two years and would love to go again. Hopefully Georgia stays clean for you while camping!
