When I had Cooper I was informed that you don't give them any food until 6 months now. I am always amazed how things change from baby to baby as all my others had it by 4 months. So here we are at 5 1/2 months and Cooper will lunge at any food he is close to so I decided to just give him rice cereal. Is two weeks early really going to make a huge difference???? I don't think so. Needless to say he LOVED his food.......he has had it twice now and pretty much freaks out when you aren't giving it to him fast enough or when he is done. It's quite funny!!! I'm glad that my kids love to eat.......they are getting a little more picky as they can voice what they like and don't like but usually they don't get too much choice if it's a supper meal......they get to eat it whether they want to or not. Sarah is my best eater......she loves all the ethnic foods we try around this place......it's hit and miss with the others sometimes!! With school going back in I need to get back into routine of "real meals'. So what's your favorite??? I need some new dishes to try!!!!

Overflowing.....
Going in for more....
Love that the big kids help out.....
Hasn't realized we are done yet......

He's a cutie!
Love the pics.
My kids like most pasta dishes. And rice is a pretty big thing at our house as well.
Pop in on my recipe, if you're interested. (I really need to update it.) I also have a couple of friends with recipe blogs and they have some good ideas, too. And, I get lots of ideas from allrecipes.com.
I've always had so much milk that so far, my kids have both started solids at 6 months. They just weren't interested any sooner....and even still, Allie prefers nursing over solids. And obviously she isn't lacking in nutrition!
I'm ALWAYS looking for new dinner ideas. I've been really loading the fam up on veggies lately, so a lot of times I just make sticky rice, and then steam a bunch of veggies with some seasoning. We're "part-Korean" though, so we practically live on rice! :) On my blog, I've started putting what we're having for dinner each night....not that I make overly exciting things, I just like to share. If every blogger mom did that, we'd have lots of ideas for each other!!!
I like to cook roasts...beef or pork...or a big ham. I cook them all day at 250 degrees. it makes them nice and tender (5/6-ish hours if thawed or 8-ish hours if frozen).
Also, if you like squash...try boiling it with brown sugar and cinnomen, then drain and mash them. it is very yummy. it's more like a dessert than a veggie.
Oh my goodness what a guy he looked like he couldn't get enough of it fast enough... I don't have kids but I don't think 2 weeks would be a big deal... he was READY!

Cooper certainly does like to eat. I don't know why you never let me share my ice-cream with him...it's dairy, lol! I love chicken potpie and salad.
I started Austin at 5 months, he was lunging at everyone's food and crying if he didn't get any. I figure it wasn't that long ago that babies were being fed nothing but nasty canned milk and they lived....a little cereal isn't going to hurt him! Austin loves to eat too!
