Birthday weekend......

So this past Friday was Jeff's 32nd birthday......yep....the big old 32. I'll always feel young!!! We had a great day......Jeff only worked for the morning b/c when you are the boss you can let yourself hook off on your birthday!! It was another HOT day .....to hot for cooking so we took the kids out for lunch. They assume when it's your birthday that you get to eat out so seeing as they weren't going with us that night lunch was a good choice. We went to "Jungle Jim's" and had a pretty good time. The meal was good.....kids ate all of theirs and Jessica even managed to get the girls to sing to Daddy!!! We then went and got the birthday boy a much needed haircut and then came home to get ready for an evening out. The older 3 kids got to have a sleepover at Nanny Nelson's so we took the birthday cake up there for everyone to share. It was yummy!!! Jeff really wanted a coconut cheesecake but I couldn't find a good recipe and it was way toooooo HOT last week to even think about turning on the oven so we had to settle for a yummy cake from Superstore. After cake we headed to Halifax were Georgia hung out with Nanny Jackie and we went out to eat at a little place called Stone Haven. It was the most AMAZING meal......we started out with salads.......caesar and spinach........yummy.....then we got the meat feast for two!!! It was phenomenal!!! I only wish that we had taken a picture of the platter before we were done......it had lamb chops, filet mignon, pork soulvaki and chicken.......plus potatoes, rice and veggies!!! It was one of the best meals I have ever had. It's not the cheapest place to eat but for a special meal it was well worth it. So we managed to actually eat the whole meat feast and then share a piece of cheesecake.....strawberry banana peanut butter cheesecake!!! It was to die for!!!! Perfection!!! After dinner we were rather full and it was late due to a pre dinner shopping trip to MEC so we grabbed Georgia and headed home. It was a late night as the gross heat kept us awake. I managed to finish a great book I have been reading......"Table for five" by Susan Wiggs ......recommend it for anyone who likes a good book. I couldn't put it down!!

The rest of the weekend was busy.....Karen went through the temple Saturday morning......later that afternoon we went shopping for paddles and life jackets for the kiddies and then in the night Annie and Chad came over to play some Phase 10......it was a great game as it came down to points in the end and Jeff beat out Annie!!! Hope everyone else had a good weekend like we did......I'm gonna throw in a picture of the nachos we made yesterday to watch the car race with.......they were yummy!!! We have become NASCAR watchers thanks to Jeff winning his trip that he took back in May. We started watching before he went and now are hooked.......

i'm not gonna lie, those nachos look like the best thing ever. maybe even better than mozza sticks (which tend to be my fav. when hitting the fat train).
glad you had a stellar weekend.
did you get to go to the temple with karen? she told me she was a puddle of tears for a lot of it, i can't wait for her wedding this weekend!
