Pumpkin Time.......

I really enjoy the fun of Halloween and watching the kids get so excited about dressing up but I really don't love the carving of the pumpkins. Not because it isn't fun but when you don't carve a part quite right, some people get a little bent out of shape. Last night the kids decided that we needed to carve......it was probably a good idea as Jessica has a piano recital tonight and then it's Halloween tomorrow. Everyone had fun digging out the "guts". Georgia even felt she should try and eat it and then the intense part came. I had some stencils for designs that the kids wanted to use. Jake picked a crazy face for his big pumpkin, Jessica picked a ghost and Sarah a bat. Jeff helped Jake with his, and in the end helped finish off the bat because Sarah was quite distraught that I wasn't cutting the face just right. I got to help Jessica and anything seemed great for her. They had a blast together and loved the end result and I thought I would never get them to bed. Jessica was determined she was going to stay up as long as the candle burned.....nice try!!!

Today I have Sarah home from school, she's had a cough all week and I don't think has been sleeping the best so I think a day of rest is what she might need. Tonight we are off to Halifax for Jessica's first piano recital. She is sooooooooo excited!!!! She gets to wear her Halloween costume and has to tell a joke too!!! It should be cute!! Tomorrow the girls both have Halloween parties at school and then we have to figure out the game plan for the night. In the past we have always gone to my parents but Jeff is itching to stay home this year along with Sarah, Jessica still wants to go to her Nanny's house but I don't know if it will happen. We have been invited to a Halloween Party too, so I think we'll probably grab some treats in our neighborhood and then drop by for a visit with some friends after.......life will be busy, but lots of fun!!!! Off to fold laundry, find the witch's tights for tonight and bake some cookies!!!! Hope everyone has a great Halloween tomorrow.....can't wait to see pictures of everyones costumes!!!!!
